Change is here, and will stay here, time to adapt!

Planning in a violent, rapidly changing world where no end can be defined requires courage and new models!

A New Way to Plan – Moving Targets or ”Corona” Planning!

Digital Transformation

Requires a new way of planning and thinking ”New Mindset”, consideration must be given to the pace of change that is currently going on, which will continue to accelerate with violent force, to what we today call the unthinkable.

Then came CORONA, with the unthinkable

We were already there before CORONA came, to a fast and changing world is, CORONA taught us what a rapidly changing world means, and that the concept unthinkable, quickly became imaginable!

Corona along with digitization

Will drive rationalization automations, with additional force! We will simply live in a constantly changing world, where speed will only increase, until what we today think is unthinkable (if anyone still believes in the unthinkable, after Corona).

After Corona

Mindset

It will require a new leadership, with a new Mindset that has understood what rapid change really means! It requires great courage and wisdom!

This will require a whole new type of planning with a new model that can be changed very quickly to a new business plan with a completely new way of working (without Silos), it requires that the IT strategy is integrated!

To plan with Moving Targets

You have to have a new plan, a plan and a model for working methods and systems that, in symbiosis, can quickly change in a constantly changing world? Rapidly changing targets , defined or undefined?

TITANIC & larger companies

They are about as easy to turn around as TITANIC was in their day, they became speed blind and simply saw danger too late. (Ask NOKIA and Kodak about this). Begin your planning NOW!

Which planning horizon do you dare to plan with today?

In the 1980s, I was the IT manager for a larger group, and I could easily lay out 10 years of plans.

Today it is becoming difficult, not to mention impossible to work with fixed 3 year plans.

You should rather easily work with moving goals in a world of violent change, basically plan with both defined and undefined goals, Try ”MOVNG TARGETS ”

The lack of a Start & End date, this is not the same date in Corona times!

Planning without knowing a start or end date is a big problem with Corona today is that we do not have an end date for Corona as well as a start date when activities start up again. Then our old static and sequential models will not work, and so it will be after Corona!

Ongoing planning without an end – The new World with new moving models ”Moving Targets”

To plan statically with a beginning and an end, we have always done that, as we see today, these models no longer work, and they will not do after Corona, new models actually have to be applied. Plan with moving targets without a defined end, in a constantly changing world

Previous Planning – In the Old World

To plan statically with a beginning and an end, we have always done that, as we see today, these models no longer work, and they will not do after Corona, new models actually have to be applied. Plan with moving goals without a defined end, in a constantly changing world

Static planning, the old school here we plan with an end goal ”date”, which controls the entire project planning, it worked well in the 19th century about 20-30 years ago. But it does not work in the 20th century!

In the 19th century it worked, with in the 20th century it goes too fast, time is not on your side!

The old models have failed for many years, they are static and sequential, no one takes into account the Time Factor, a built-in error in the models, from before. Exactly changes over time is the big problem!
The old IT (ERP) world is still trying to meet the new digital world with its old models, they simply do not work in a modern digital world, where the speed of change is of a kind we have never seen before. The old traditional ERP world is simply dying!

ERP / Business System a Horror Story!
